A sanctuary for prayer,
learning, and community.
We are a community rooted in the timeless principles of Islam as revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), dedicated to serving the spiritual and social needs of the greater Richmond area.
Our Stewardship
Since our founding in 2007, the Islamic Center of Richmond (ICR) has functioned as a 501(c)(3) non-profit religious organization. We act as a cornerstone for residents across Henrico, Goochland, Hanover, Chesterfield, and the City of Richmond.
Our presence in Glen Allen is more than a location; it is a commitment to upholding the practices of Islam through religious, educational, and charitable activities. We believe that a community thrives when its spiritual needs are met with dignity and clarity.
Our Intent
Religious Integrity
We organize activities that benefit the Muslim community, ensuring every effort is in accordance with the Quran and the Sunnah.
Educational Reach
From the Al-Furqan Seminary to our Al-Iman Academy, we foster a culture of lifelong learning for children and adults alike.
Charitable Duty
We facilitate Zakah and Sadaqa distribution, bridging the gap between those with the means to give and those in our community who require support.
The Foundation of Shura
Our governing principle is Shura (mutual consultation), as defined by Al-Quran and As-Sunnah. We believe that collective wisdom, grounded in sacred texts, provides the most stable path for community leadership.
All decisions at ICR are accepted and defended by our members, provided they align with the legacy of Ahlus-Sunna Wa Al-Jamaah and the jurisprudence of the four renowned scholars of Fiqh.
The Quran & Sunnah
Our primary and descending sources of authority in all matters of faith and practice.
The Ijmaa
The total consensus of the Sahaba, preserving the historical purity of Islamic doctrine.
Ahlus-Sunna Legacy
Honoring the traditional path of Islamic scholarship and jurisprudence.
